Our History

College Park Nursery School was founded in 1965 as Adelphi Nursery School Association. From its beginning, CPNS was created as a cooperative school, modeled after cooperative schools that began to open around the country in the early decades of the 20th Century to provide socialization for young children and education for parents. After a series of moves around College Park and an evolution of its name, CPNS settled into its current space at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in 1981. CPNS has been a proud fixture of downtown College Park since then, serving families in College Park and the surrounding communities.
